Consider the following before the next snowstorm:

  1. Clear snow away from your foundation.

  2. Remove heavy snow near roof edges and keep attic vents clear.

  3. Watch for water infiltration, especially from pipes.

  4. Seal your doors and windows tightly.

  5. Avoid lowering your thermostat too much. This can cause large-scale icicles.

  6. Clear all exterior vents and exhaust pipes.
